As a hipster cruises down a country road, an energetic vortex opens in his path. Someone is appearing from within that vortex, as if tumbling through the opening. Fate appointed this approaching motorist to become the good samaritan and rescue the survivor of such an extraordinary happening.

The visuals in this picture are inspired by ideas for a novel I've been outlining. This particular image comes from a lucid dream one character has during the unfolding of the story.

This illustrates an idea that occurs in several mythologies of human origin, namely the creation of the universe and everything in it from nothing. The idea has been inspired by reading I've been doing lately on recent theories of cosmology based on the notion of the big bang.

Shows the archetype of the devil as a personification of the problems of unchecked ego, which I believe is the chief source of evil in the world.

Inspired by a poem I wrote titled "Tea Among the Stones" about vampires prowling Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta. The poem tells a story of a female vampire who meets a young man for a rendezvous in the cemetery at night. He intends to seduce her for carnal pleasure. But she clearly plans to turn predator and make him the prey.

This image shows a pair of swimmers playing underwater just off the shores of Atlantis. The water is clear and exciting. Even the dolphins can't resist taking part in the fun.
The title of this rendering is fashioned after the names of seas on the Moon. Since these lunar "seas" are really just dust, I thought it would be appropriate to use a similar name for an image that depicts the sands of time like a sea of sand. This image is the 100th rendering I have completed

In his hands, probability dances like magnetic fields. He is the maker of uncertainty, the unseen fingers mixing up every random event. Because of his constant interference, nothing is as simple as it seems. With his calling and gift for chaos, everything is possible. He is the luck of the draw, seeing all outcomes and selecting all winners.

Somewhere in a distant woods, this playful spirit prepares to send a freshly made wish out into the world. With a simple puff of breath, this unshaped bundle of dreamlight will wander away until it finds a yearning heart on which to land. It is the capacity to wish that is itself a wish come true.

Originally, I had included two men in the image in a combat/sparring scenario. But that just didn't sync with the serenity of the space I'd created. So, I dropped one of the pair and reposed the remaining man to be engaged in exercise, such as tai chi.

An idea from quantum physics that intrigues me is the notion that the universe contains an infinite number of "parallel" realities. This idea is a metaphysical possibility in the classic thought experiment of Schrödinger's Cat. The array of golden boxes in the background represent the vast number of possible splinter worlds. The "wings" borne on the back of the human figure are fashioned in the shape of the symbol for infinity. And in each of the wings you see the same terrain as it exists down different forks in the road of time.
This image is one of those pictures that gets started and finished before I have much chance to think about it in a conscious way. While I don't mind spending a lot of time working on an image, sometimes the best result emerges very quickly.

This image is a frame from an animated clip I was working on. In this clip, the darkened well is briefly illuminated by a bolt of light from above that strikes the altar in the center.
