A host serves drinks to his partner and a friend. One of the pair unwinds in the churn of the hot tub while the friend suns himself in the nude. Nearby, a fountain chatters away with the soothing voice of falling water. The sun is warm. There is all the time in the world to relax.

They may be bitter enemies or friends working out a difference of opinion. In this place, they take up their weapons and talents to collide until one emerges in victory. Although the giant is poised to strike a shattering blow with the full might of his sword, the conjurer prepares to meet this force with tactic of his own. Who can say which of them will win this trial?

A group of soldiers on sands where their work is unwelcome. They appear to have spotted a threat approaching in the distance. The men rally together for their mutual defense and the ensured success of their mission. In the wake of the September 11 terrorist attack on the United States and the subsequent talk of war in Afghanistan, thinking about brave men putting themselves at risk to ensure the safety of others has found its way into my art.

Most people tell me that I've got a typo in the title of this picture. In fact, the title is a word splice between "arbor" for tree and "airborne" for being in the air. So "arborne oasis" is an oasis of trees in the air.
One of life's great challenges is the struggle between the security and predictability of order versus the chaos and risk of free will. At one end of that conflict is anarchy. Here is my view of the other end, where color and variety and squeezed out in favor of the geometric and neatly arranged. In the background, a single human hand struggles to climb above the excess of organization.
I wanted to get a feel for the kinds of objects and combinations you need for an outdoor street scene. Most of the objects in this picture were downloaded from web sites who generously provide free models. Part of the fun of making this image was collecting, editing, and combining these objects to make the final picture.
