Naked Body of Dreams

The Only True Persistence

Performing the most literal interpretative dance are
arcane oscillations in fidgeting segments of sequence,
something akin to continuity, seeming as a string.
They break their moves in extra, clustered dimensions
so odd and peculiar, untouchable and always unseen,
the truly tiniest out-of-sight space where God throws
Einstein's spooky dice in that wicked Hawking style.

Vouging vibrational states, snapping the quantum pop,
posing with fickle charges and a sum of fractional spins,
striking novel poses whenver the camera's not around.
The vascillating variance mixes matter in beats and notes,
a quirk of twitching quarks making improvised neutrinos
metamorphed into muons then photons naked next,
a permanent perturbation that refuses any rest.

About the Poem

This poem lends a quantum mechanical flavor to the very old zen wisdom that the only thing of any permanence in the universe is the fact of endless change. All that we know and a great deal we don't know yet is built on a churning foam of vibration.

This poem was completed June 28, 2014. It is previously unpublished in print.
